Our Thrapsathiri is one of the first single-varietal expressions of this emerging Cretan grape, and our winery was among the first to believe in its potential. The high altitude from which the fruit comes and the careful handling at the winery result in a very expressive wine that beautifully combines the richness and body with freshness, acidity, and the exotic with more 'green' elements. It's a wine that seems to unite two worlds, the old and the new, much like the geographical position of Crete, the southernmost point of Europe. It has a bright lemon-green color and a complex, captivating aroma where stone fruits and exotic fruits combine beautifully with citrus, backed by hints of pepper, white flowers, and minerality. The taste is rich, with a creamy texture, refreshing acidity, and a very nice, lasting, and spicy aftertaste. Serving Temperature: 10 – 12°C Food Pairing: Fish and seafood prepared in all cooking methods, poultry and white meats with white sauces, lamb stew with lemon-based sauces, pasta, vegetable dishes, cheeses, and risotto.
